Today, Tuesday 15 August, the second half of the second season of the series Greenleaf on OWN starts.
The series about a megachurch in Memphis took a midseason break in March and will now be continued on two consecutive evenings. The remaining three episodes are then on the weekly program again.
In the midseason finale, the family split up. Jacob (Lamman Rucker) has joined the rival church of Triumph Ministries as a pastor, breaking with his father Bishop James Greenleaf (Keith David). Especially his mother Lady Mae (Lynn Whitfield) struggles with Jacob’s decision to abandon the family.
Meanwhile, Grace (Merle Dandridge) Uncle Macs (Gregory Alan Williams) has uncovered criminal machinations, but failed to do justice. But Grace will remember the violent night for a long time to come. A journalist (Rick Fox), who has been following the threats against the Greenleaf Empire for a long time, shows up and offers his help.
Oprah Winfrey will also make another guest appearance as Mavis McCready.
